This weapon is still in the experimental stages, but has been issued to the US Military for testing. The barrel of the weapon is made from the same material used in creating the heat shield tiles for spacecraft re-entry. It electrothermally fires solid titanium rounds with gold cores which are superheated to 2500 degrees fahrenheit
